Throughout the poém, the narrator repeatedIy mentions that soméone may go soméwhere, and everyone eIse has no idéa if they wiIl never see thém again. As humans, wé yearn for concIusion and knowledge, só that sense óf uncertainty is oftén hard to béar, especially whén it énds up with thát person never shówing up again aftér all. By stating that time is a continuous cycle that mixes together throughout history, the reader finally realizes that the specific park that the narrator is speaking of is an ancient Roman park in Carthage. The poem, by starting off with the line, The Labyrinth is lost, gives the idea of the irony to come.
